Found a quiet, California hillside to paint my little oil sketch. The afternoon ocean breeze was so refreshing. Our June, that use to be a fog month, has turned into a cool, sunny July.
This was one of my first sketches outdoors for quite a while. I so enjoy teaching my indoor studio classes, nevertheless, It was good to take a break a feel the sunshine.
Nice to find a subject that still carries the look of the old Spanish village feel envisioned by the city fathers. I entitled this sketch, North San Clemente Oil Sketch, 12 x 16 inches, oil on birch panel.
