Desert Landscape Painting Workshop

In this workshop, we’ll study the art of picture-making: shaping lights and darks, and exploring value and color. There will be lots of focused learning throughout the workshop.

The class is designed for painters at all levels, from beginner to advanced. We’ll work hard and have a great time doing it, with plenty of personal instruction.

The locations are chosen with an “artist’s eye.” There is no off-roading.

Novemebr  is a beautiful time of year in the desert; however, the weather can be unpredictable, Layered clothing is recommended. Dark cotton colors work well under the desert sun.

Here is my materials list. You may have your own favorite supplies. This list  helps you navigate to my recommendations.

I use Utrecht, M.Graham, Old Holland,Winsor Newton, and Pretested Grumbacher would be my others.  Stay away from student grade paint.
